This pain you feel, you as One,
is the pain of all souls. Until all are lifted, until all feel no pain; you, and all the others—who are also you-- will feel. What affects the smallest of us, affects all of us. This is what Oneness means: there is no separation, not from you and God/One/Divine/All. And not from you and everyone else. In order to transcend your pain, you must own your victimhood. Speak out, claim it. Name it as it is. And then, in order to transmute your pain into something new, hold compassion. The soul leads you on the journey
of remembering your true Self. All else falls by the wayside, as you journey deeper and deeper, higher and higher, into this understanding. You are here to learn how to live as soul in human container, in the highest, most experiential, most present way you can. Let all else drop away. Live from your soul. You have millions of years to learn these lessons. We say, enjoy it all. Enjoy your body, in whatever shape it is. Enjoy your personality, with all its flaws. Enjoy the very struggles themselves, as they open you. Why expect to be good?
Why expect to be Light without shadow? Why expect to learn before you do the lesson? In learning to live, you will fail many times. There may be no time you will not be failing! Humble yourself to this expectation. Appreciate this grace, that you can begin again, and again, and again. There is no time you cannot open further. There is no time you cannot learn more. There is no time you cannot experience Light. This gift of learning without end: it is your road to enlightenment. All life is practice, all life is learning.
One lesson after another. The progressive curriculum of pain, compassion, connection, love. One lesson after another, learning as we go. Why be hard on yourself, when you fail? Why have the enormous ego response to failure? Why expect yourself to be better, bigger, stronger than anyone else? We’re each incredibly flawed. We’re each astoundingly perfect. We each hover around darkness. We each burn with radiant Light. You have arrived on this earth,
with this many or that many years left to you, as soul in human container, for one reason: To learn to live. Not in a small way: a puny life of shame and fear and pain. Not in a middling way: a careful life without risk, without reward. Not in a reckless way: burning all bridges the moment you cross them. But with eyes open, heart open. Willing to connect, engage, learn, expand, grow. Willing to make mistakes, mess up, stumble, lose. Willing to fail, fail again, fail even further. All failure is growing. |
