It's the first time in over 150 years that we'll gaze upon this moon.
It's a full moon—in Leo. It's a super moon—closer to earth. It's a blue moon—the second of two moons in january. It's a total lunar eclipse. And it's happening tomorrow, January 31. What does this mean at a soul level? How can we prepare spiritually? There are prophecies and predictions from all sides. What I am sensing is this: The last time we saw this moon was in 1866—interestingly, the same year of the first Civil Rights Act (leading to the 14th amendment in 1868) and the end of the Civil War. A year in which past wrongs were righted. A year in which awareness became law. A year in which humans were recognized as equal. 150 years later, we can set intention that this cycle repeats: that civil and human rights for all—regardless of race, religion, gender, culture, age—are championed again. The political swirl is very active right now. The U.S. especially is sorting and sifting through the old ways, finally having the strength and voice to claim what we know to be true: all are equal, all are One. Note also that this lunar eclipse cycles back to the energy of the solar eclipse of August 2017. Our connection as One will resonate again. How can we harness the power of this rare moon? The very simple, very intense ritual I suggest for January 31 is: 1. Witness the eclipse. Check here for times and map of the path of totality. 2. Moon bathe. Go outside and meditate, pray and cry beneath this super blue blood moon. 3. As you absorb the energy of the planets, do three things • Release what needs to go. Be brave and release without fear. • Feel your feelings. Let them come and move through you. • Open yourself. Put your mind and fears aside allow guidance to come. “The Universe does not abandon you. “You must know that it is possible to lock into the hum and feel the consciousness of the Universe at all times. “Never before have we in this realm been able to use the methodology of writing as a tool to reach so many people. A lot of us suffer from anxiety—either the chronic kind we've had since we were children, or the now-and-then kind we get from being part of a stresssful, fast-paced life.
I like to think of the chronic kind as a gift: it is a deep sensitivity that allows us to feel everything, all the time. It is a sign of being monumentally in tune with all of the energies, even if this sometimes leads to overwhelm. The now-and-then kind seems to affect even the most grounded souls: life is busy, there are a lot of things pulling at us. It is easy to lose sight of our clear path and get pulled by all the things calling to us, and this creates overwhelm. If you are experiencing anxiety, there are two solutions. Try one, and if that one doesn't work, try the other one. One of them will always work. The first solution is to DO: anxiety is about us getting out of our heads and the cycling thought loops that keep us locked in that thought pattern.. When we begin to DO: walk, swim, run, move, shift, look away, breathe, hug, cry, read, paint... the thought cycle is broken. Any action or doing that takes us even for a moment out of the thought cycle, will break the pattern of anxiety. The second solution is to BE: anxiey is also about getting us out of our constant stream of busyness, that leads to us not being able to sustain a pace that is enjoyable and comforting. If you are doing too much: too busy, too many activities, too many people, too many deadlines—just STOP DING.. Start becoming still, turning inward, and letting all those demands and clamor and busyness simply fade away. After all, the world spins on, whether we get to our "to do" list or not. Try solution one: doing. If that doesn't work, try solution two: being. One of them will work, every time. Remember, with anxiety, the answer is to break the chain of looping thoughts, either by DOING or by BEING. Interrupt the pattern. You'll get clearer and clearer, every time you do. It is a beautiful new year.
A whole new page to turn. And whether we’re making resolutions or un-resolutions, we can recognize one thing about 2018: We are definitely going to fail. We’re going to mess up. We’re going to screw up, We’re going to make mistakes. We’re going to be brilliant in our ability to fail! The thing is: We’re raised with the idea that failing is a mistake, or some kind of reflection of our worth. Nothing could be further from the truth. In essence, failure is growing. Failure is the sign that we have stretched past a limit. Failure is a sign that we are actively expanding. Every day in our soul growth, we overreach ourselves: we fail, we fall. But this is not a bad thing! Failure is a sign of a soul in expansion. Fail, try, fall, try again. This is how we learn soul lessons. It is a great thing to free yourself from the idea of failure as “bad” and simply to accept that failure means we are growing. Especially as we start a new year. We are entering a new year. And I implore you, to please begin this fresh, clean year—this fresh, clean slate—by allowing yourself to live your dreams.
To answer your true calling To become present in your real life. And to do this today. Even when we were children—or especially when we were children—many of us were aware of our life dream. Sometimes we call this our life’s work, our calling, our destiny. Often our life dream is very much at odds with what society tells us: for example, we might be told we need to get a stable job, when our soul is calling us to travel the world. We might be told we need to live a life a certain way, when our soul is calling us to do something entirely different. Whenever there is the whisper, the call, the longing, the dreaming of something different, this is something to pay attention to. This is the Universe trying to get you back on track; this is the Universe trying to help you remember why you’re here. As a soul, following your dreams is what you’re here for. If you’ve put off your dreams for a long time, why? Are you afraid of failing? Or are you afraid of succeeding? What if you understood that achieving your dreams was the most important thing for you to do in this lifetime? That the rest: the “success” or “status” or “security” was not the point? What if? Why not? We are here to live as our true selves. The new year is an ideal time to begin. Don't be fooled by the further chaos, trickery, and general darkness of politics and big business. The world will continue to spin and turn.
However, this year YOU have the option to opt out from the drama. It doesn't mean hide. It doesn't mean not stand up for Light. But as an "11" year, this is your year to focus on intution, spirituality, and discovering the radiant, inner you—in essence, to become acquainted with you as soul. Remember: what affects one affects the One. As you do your inner work—as we all do our inner work—everything changes. There isn't a particular way to do this. But I would certainly invite you to opt out from all resolutions that are punitive, fear-based, group thought, formed around the idea of "not enough", and based on the idea that outer change matters. Only inner change matters. This year. And forever. You as soul: this is the part that needs attention now. Let go of the "resolutions", the puritanical and punitive group thought that says you're not enough. You are already whole. Nothing needs fixing. Take a deep breath and feel the bliss of everything, connect with that over and over again, as often as you can, and let your true self emerge. |
