I saw a show at Northwest Dance Project yesterday in Portland, and got a chance to meet artistic director Sarah Slipper.
The performance was held in the company's rehearsal and teaching space, a big expansive room of grey and mirrors and windows and light.
The dancing was fabulous, dancers so close we could hear their ragged breathing, the way their feet slapped the floor, and at one point, the buzz of the most enormous bee I have ever seen, flying slowly, majestically across the air space if the stage.
Life's your dance.
We get this giant rehearsal space to try things out, but it's no rehearsal.
Everything is live.
Every moment is a choice to be expansive, wild, free, and fully present with exquisite attention to the moment.
Enjoy your dance today.
