There are times in each person’s life when everything is going well: things come relativity easily, and there is an abiding sense of joy.
Those perfect days, when you’re sailing down the river of life without even needing to paddle—this is Flow state.
Whenever things are easy, effortless, joyous, you know you are in flow. And whenever you’re in Flow, you’re on the right path.
When you’re not in Flow: when things are stick, tricky, chaotic and dramatic, you are being asked to look at how you are moving in the world.
Another approach is better.
Easy, effortless, joyful, calm… these are the emotions of being on the right path.
If you aren’t sure where you are headed, or if everything seems confusing, or if you know you’re going somewhere but you don’t know how to get there…check your Flow state.
Do whatever’s easiest.
Do whatever’s effortless.
Don’t do anything and see what happens.
Wait for further instructions.
Totally let go of outcome, and let the Universe lead.
Flow state always trumps blocked states, as change is our way of being. Choose what’s easy, effortless and joyful, and let go of the need to push the river.
The Universe has things well in hand.

Just as we can connect in to all the aspects of the Universe via meditation, so too can we use this process to heal our body.
We can connect in with every aspect of our body in meditation, right down to the cellular level.
When we are in communication with the different systems in our body, we can ask them what they need. Sometimes the responses are physical, sometimes they emotional, sometimes they are energetic.
When we communicate with our body, we can learn what our body needs to stay healthy, and to heal.
If you aren’t sure how to do this, you might just start by talking to your various body systems. Talk to your heart, both your emotional and your physical heart, and ask it how it’s doing. Talk to your knees and ask them. Talk to your brain. And so on: just ask all the body parts, and all the body systems, and then go deeper and ask the cells.
You will be very surprised that your body has a voice, and that your body has many voices, and all of these voices are a resounding chorus, that will inform you completely of what changes or support are needed.
Your body is not separate from you. Ask it what it needs, as you would ask an old friend.
P.S. I would love to work with you on the 2018 Beyond Words Cruise.
We don’t need to manifest miracles. We simply need to notice them as they show up.
Billions of miracles are happening in every moment; when we begin to pay exquisite attention to absolutely everything, we soon see our life is miracle-filled.
Our mind/personality ego may think it wants or needs a specific miracle to make us happy, but this is not so.
When we open to the miracle of every moment—really open to it—we are filled with a sense of grace and wonder.
The simple act of noticing Now will fill us completely.
Remember: you don’t have to notice Now in the present moment only. Now also includes the past, such as with memories and remembrance, and the future, such as what we are dreaming, manifesting and creating.
It’s always Now: wherever we put our consciousness is our Now.
So if you aren’t sure what you’re trying to create as a miracle, you can go back into past, or forward into future, and see what informs you there.
Many times, the miracles have been building in our lives for a long time: when we stop, and look back at where we have been and we are not, the pattern becomes clear.
P.S. I would love to work with you on the 2018 Beyond Words Cruise.
Bliss is a vibrational state; it is a state of awareness.
We speak about the Universe having particular layers and levels of dimensionality, and we can enter these at will.
The bliss state is no different—it is a dimensional state we can enter.
For example, when we begin to hold attention to every little thing, we begin to feel wonder and gratitude, and in this way, we begin to experience bliss—we cross the veil from the dimension of pain and distraction, to the dimension of bliss.
When we allow ourselves to go there, we can really be in this vibration all the time.
Some days, it is very hard to stop smiling!
And then other days, it’s not so easy. We have to remind ourselves: my dimensional state is a choice. I can choose what dimension I’m in, or not in. I can shift my dimensional state at will.
In other words, even when things are not going as we’d like, we can still seek the vibrational state of bliss.
Does it seem Polyanna to you? Always looking on the bright side?
But that isn’t it at all.
We’re not trying to negate the negative, or claim that everything is always perfect. Of course it’s not.
We’re just noticing: there are may be vibrational states, and I get to choose at every moment, what state I want to experience.
Try choosing bliss, more often.
You will not be disappointed.
P.S. Books make wondeful gifts. See the list here.
In modern life, people think it’s hard to be spiritually connected. Yet this isn’t so.
Spiritual connection isn’t something that has to happen in a certain way, at certain time of day or for a certain length of time.
It’s not a struggle!
It’s true, there are beautiful formal practices, and many people love these. But it is also okay to simply live spiritual connection as your way of being.
We can enter into to Divine space anywhere. We can look around us and become filled with gratitude anytime.
Our connection with the God/One/All/Divine/Universe/Source is always with us, because we are also that.
As you move through the holidays, in whatever way you are celebrating or not celebrating, simply hold this as key: the Divine always with you.
No separation, ever.
P.S. Books make wonderful gifts. See the list here.
The Universe has a very specific language that it uses to communicate with us.
We can learn this language, when we seek to meditate, when we spend time in nature, when we follow synchronicities, and when we allow ourselves to have peak experiences. All of these are ways the Universe speaks to us.
If you are having trouble recognizing Spirit in your life, it can be useful to let go of the idea that Spirit will come in a certain way, or bring a certain desired result.
Instead, just notice what’s happening when you’re meditating, in nature, when you notice a coincidence, when you experience bliss. All of these are ways Spirit is talking to you.
P.S. Books make wonderful gifts. See the list here.
We have this tendency to label something as “good” or something as “bad.”
But in reality, if there were no challenges to work through, we wouldn’t grow very much.
The “bad” things are like the stone in our shoe that keeps irritating us as we walk on our path: it bothers us and bothers us and bothers us, until we finally stop, take off our shoe and take a long, hard look at the problem.
When we look at the problem, instead of avoiding it, we get clear.
This is where growth happens.
If we are in the middle of a rough patch, where there is a lot of pain, chaos, drama—maybe we need to look at how we are approaching our lives, maybe we need to make changes.
Or sometimes we’re very present in our lives, and bad things happens anyway. Why is this?
The soul answer is that everything is a lesson that moves us to greater expansion.
Everything is an opportunity to expand further in our understanding.
And yet the human answer is that it’s very hard to be grateful when bad things happen.
If you can’t find gratitude at the moment, just feel what you feel. It is enough to be authentic for now. When, over time, you look back and recognize the lesson you were being taught, the gratitude will come of its own accord.
P.S. I had a great time on Psychic Shawn's CAFE ESOTERICA Radio. Take a listen here!
When you feel relaxed, peaceful and joyous, you are feeling connected to Spirit.
When you feel stressed, fearful, angry, you are feeling separate.
Feeling good is connected.
Feeling pain is separate.
If you find yourself in negative emotional states or thought loops, use the breath to bring you home: close your eyes, breath in through the nose and out through the mouth ten times, until you relax again.
In through the nose.
Out through the mouth.
Try it now, and watch as that swoony, expanded, relaxed state comes over you.
It feels good, doesn’t it? It’s really quite hard to even remember what you felt so miserable about? Even on the breath, you have been transported to a new dimensional reality, a new realignment of yourself, a connection to Spirit that takes you to a new realm and a new reality.
Stay there, breathing, until the relaxation and peace of Spirit is clear to you once again.
The breath is always a true bridge to Spirit—you can always use it to enter a connected state.
Any place, any time… the breath will always take you there.
P.S. Books make wonderful gifts. See the offerings here!
Some people approach well-being through the body, with nutrition, exercise and health practices.
Other people approach well-being through experiences: travel and adventure.
Others approach well-being through the heart: deep intimate connection.
Still others find well-being via the soul: in prayer, meditation, creativity.
Still others avoid well-being altogether: they participate in all kinds of “bad” habits, “bad” practices, addictions and so forth.
And… all of these are okay.
Whatever path you’re doing right now, is exactly as it should be.
You learn soul lessons from having discipline and being “good.”
You learn soul lessons from having no discipline and being “bad.”
You learn soul lesson from being asleep, and not knowing you’re asleep.
You learn soul lessons from being awake, and knowing that you'll wake up more.
Everyone is seem wired a little differently as to how they best experience well-being: body, experiences, heart, soul. Pay attention to what makes you happy, what makes you feel the most free, what makes you smile.
That’s where you’ll find the particular spiritual habits that help you feel best.
P.S. Books make great gifts! See them here.
There are many ways to live; there is no one “good” way or “bad” way.
Even in a spiritually focused life, there may be many twists and turns where some parts of a life are unsuccessful or disappointing, difficult or just plain rotten.
When we look from soul perspective, we see that we’re on the path of soul growth—we’ve already had many lifetimes to work on our soul lessons, and we’ll have many future lifetimes to continue our understanding.
When we work from this infinite perspective, it takes the pressure off “doing it perfectly” this time around.
We don’t have it all figured out.
It’s a process over time, and as souls, we have all the time we need.
If you’re stressing about your own progress, or stressing about the progress of the world (which is certainly moving through some difficult soul lessons), take a deep breath.
Trust that all is as it should be.
Everything: people and worlds, move toward expansion.
P.S. Have you seen Sara's latest books and ebooks?
Spirituality is the practice of seeking God/One/All/Divine/Universe/Source in all things.
It is the recognition that we are more than our minds, bodies and to-do lists; we are expanding infinite souls in an expanding infinite Universe.
To be a spiritual person, to focus on spirituality as a life’s path, is to begin to live from your soul’s perspective.
There aren’t any rules.
There aren’t any practices.
It’s you and your soul, figuring it out together.
It's you and collective soul, figuring it out together.
You can be spiritual within any religion, or you can opt out of religion and create a practice of your own. There are many paths to spirituality, but only one mountain to climb.
We each must walk our own path.
No matter how long it takes—everything leads to the Divine.
P.S. Have you seen Sara's latest books and ebooks?
It’s easy to get distracted by a whole lot of things that don’t matter; when we attach to a trance of distraction, scarcity, numbness.
Yet when we do connect in to the Universe, it’s as dazzling as a lightening bolt or a wave of light.
Spiritual knowing is instantaneous. There is no lag time or delay in knowing. One minute we are a sleep, and the next, in a flash, we are awake and aware.
In this moment, we recognize our true selves, we understand what is really important, we open in love and connection.
Physically, in meditation, spiritual opening can feel like your mind space goes from grey and tamped down in misery, to a great lifting off in dazzling white.
Physically, in nature, spiritual opening can feel like your mind space is all chatter and drama, and then suddenly everything gets beautifully still, and you realize you are absolutely aware.
There are other ways spiritual opening can happen, but there is always a sense of being one way, in misery. And then suddenly the great opening, the great relief, the great lifting off.
If you are feeling disconnected, the best thing to do is let go of all distractions: all ways of being too busy, all ways of numbing out, all of the various addictions we all have in modern life.
Go into stillness, and ask the Universe to remind you who you really are.
Separation is a myth—there is no time we are not One.
P.S. Be a part of our virtual retreat for the holidays, Entering Stillness: A Winter's Retreat.
When people talk about energy being “blocked,” they mean energy is not flowing.
We think of energy as physical, energetic or emotional.
But they are all the same.
For humans, the body is a physical container of all our emotional experiences, including past wounds and unresolved feelings.
Thus, when we feel blocked, what we are often feeling is emotional blocking.
We are shut down, numbed out, repressed, not allowing ourselves to feel what we feel.
When we allow ourselves to open to what is—to really feel our feelings—this allows us to release that energy; it allows this energy to flow. Both emotionally, and in the physical container.
When we feel blocked—when we feel locked down by our feelings—it is simply a call to feel more.
When the body can release emotional energy, other body systems also become unblocked. Everything’s connected!
It can be scary to feel more. One of the ways this can be looked at is through the view of The Four Passages of the Heart.
The first passage is through pain. This is the place we are in when we feel blocked.
We feel fear, anxiety, stress. We feel that we can’t manage the pain. But of course, the heart can hold everything.
The second passage is compassion: for others and for oneself. Once you have made it from pain to compassion, you have done the hardest part.
The third passage is connection, understanding Oneness. And the four opening is love.
Of course. It’s always love.
If you are feeling blocked or shut down or numbed out, take a look at your Heart of Pain. If you allow yourself to feel more, you will open into the next passage.
Only scary to think about.
Very healing to do.
P.S. We begin Entering Stillness, our Winter Retreat soon. Join us!
What is a soul awakening?
One way to think of it is this: if you experienced a state of expansion in last month's solar eclipse, you've had a soul awakening recently.
Basically, a soul awakening is a state of awareness in which we expand beyond our previous level of consciousness. Whenever this happens—and it happens many times in a lifetime—it is an extraordinarily beautiful experience.
When our awareness opens, everything becomes a miracle: we find it easy to be grateful for every little thing. we experience a bliss state, we’re peaceful and joyous, we’re having fun, and we laugh a lot!
When we’re in a state of soul awakening, guidance from the Universe is clear and direct, and life seems to flow effortlessly.
Here's the thing to remember: soul awakening is an ongoing process. We don’t just awaken once in a lifetime, and that's it! We experience many states of soul awakening as we walk the path of soul growth.
When was the last time you had an awakening? Was it years ago, or was it just a few days—or even minutes—ago. We are always in the process of expansion.
P.S. Learn more about the workshops I'm teaching on the 2018 Beyond Words Cruise.
After my near death experience in 2000, everything changed.
In that moment I knew God, in a way I never had before. And in that moment, my whole life crumbed in front of me, like one of those action movies where the road falls away even as the hero is running on it.
Everything changed. Everything fell away. I began to search and seek. I started going to spiritual workshops and events. I began to try out all kinds of things I’d never done before.
At first it was scary. Nobody in my then circle of soccer moms was going to ecstatic dance, for example. Nobody in my then Catholic community was going to The Esalen Institute. It was weird to be different, outside, ostracized even.
And then, as I found my way, it was exhilarating—there was a feeling of finally finding my tribe, a sense of coming home. What a gift those ecstatic dance and meditation and kirtan and intuitive communities gave me at that time in my life! It was some of the greatest support I have known.
If you need a tribe during a personal shift, it’s available to you.
If you need support during a transformation, it’s here.
The Universe always arranges it so that you will find the people you need.
One of the reasons I'm coming out of hermitage in the Oregon woods to take part in the Beyond Words Cruise this February, is to be in community with you. I remember what is was like to be supported by community. And I know that’s what is going to happen at this event.
If you are going through transition or transformation, if you are feeling stuck or need spiritual support—consider being part of spiritual community.
The cruise is just one way.
A retreat is another.
An event is another.
A gathering is another.
However you find community—the tribe that support you during transformation—doesn’t matter.
Just make space for it.
The Universe will lead you there.
P.S. Read about the amazing community that's joining together for the Beyond Words Cruise!
When we need healing, we sometimes thing there's something wrong with our soul.
However, that's not the case.
Our soul is perfect, infinite, Divine.
What causes our suffering is not that there is something intrinsically wrong with our core.
Instead, it is always our thoughts, our opinions.. all the stuff that makes up personality.
That's where the problem is.
That's what requires an attitude adjustment.
So, how do we do this?
A starting point is to just step back and breathe.
Stop trying to figure it out or fix it.
Stop distracting yourself.
Stop participating in thought drama.
Instead, step back.
Get some retreat, rest and respite.
Have some fun, laughter, nature—any or all of these will create the shift.
When we stop thought drama and do something else, the soul has a chance to integrate all our worrisome emotions, and return to a state of calm—the natural state, in which the soul leads, and the ego is secondary.
When we provide intentional space for rest and relaxation, as well as the healing qualities of nature and fun, we make exponential leaps in our soul growth.
Don't think too much about it. Just try it: letting go, taking a break, having some fun. And see where that leads you.
P.S. Reserve your place for the 2018 Beyond Words Cruise.
A while back I posted Part One of my adventures with spirit animals. Today is Part Two.
On my last bike ride, I was unexpectedly gifted with a sighting of three young raccoons. I was still giddy with the thrill of it, when something else happened.
The Universe was not done with surprises for the day.
If you are person who lives near Nature, you already know: Nature is very much around us. It is not just that we live in these homes or apartments, and we have these fences or boundaries, and Nature doesn’t come in and interact with us.
Nature is here! Animals are everywhere!
Animals, insects, flora, trees, the wind and weather!
Nature is with us always!
Thus, after seeing the three raccoons, I continued on my bike ride. And sure enough, there it was on the next curve: my second sighting of a spirit animal in the course of 10 minutes: a young deer, blocking the path.
Deer is my totem animal, so I certainly paid attention!
Some of the questions I ask when visited by a totem animal are:
• Is it strong or weak?
• Young or old?
• What other physical conditions?
• What is it doing?
• What was I thinking about when I saw it?
• What question was I working on when I saw it?
• What came into my mind when I saw it?
I slowed my bike to a standstill and instantly noticed another woman across from me. So there I am, 20 feet from the deer on one side, the woman 20 feet on the other side, and the deer in the middle of the path.
And all of us froze.
The woman and I both went into some kind of reverie for the deer, because we both know: it was a holy moment, a message from the Universe, a sacred sighting.
Normally a deer this close, even a deer familiar with humans, would have turned and leapt away in that flashing, bounding way that deer do.
But this deer just watched us watching it, and then it started chewing grass on the side of the path.
It was fully conscious of us.
It was fully aware of us.
And it was not afraid.
What a beautiful message to receive, in these woods on this bike path, in witness by another human being!
Fully conscious. No fear.
And after a very, very long while, the mood shifted. The moment was complete. You can feel this, if you pay attention: the vibration just changes, and there it is.
Very slowly, I began towheel my bike past the deer until it slowly, casually turned and began to ramble through the brush.
The woman raised her hand as I passed.
We had witnessed this moment together.
What animals in Nature do you notice? What are they telling you? Go outside today, and see what happens.
P.S Will you be joining me and Dr. Steve for the 2018 Beyond Words Cruise?
Miracles are real.
Except, they're not particularly miraculous.
They're just how the Universe works.
When we begin to trust in the Universe, we discover that convergences—miracle moments in which time, space, consciousness and grace all come together—are happening all time, in every moment.
When we let ourselves believe in miracles, we start to pay attention to all the magic and power that is always around us.
At first, when we start paying attention, it seems like miracles are happening more often!
But soon we come to the understanding: miracles are always happening. It’s how the Universe works.
If you have lost your faith a little bit or a lot, take a step back from all those Misbeliefs. All that worry and angst in your head is not real. The Universe is moving in Divine Flow, just as it always has, forever.
Take a moment, take a breath, and just start noticing every little thing around you. When you pay attention, without expecting things to be one way or another way, you start to notice the synchcronicities and convergences, and you start to see the patterns, and you start to see the miracles.
And once you start to notice them, you will see that miracles—all the ways the Universe is in direct support of us—are happening all the time.
P.S. I'll be teaching four workshops on the 2018 Beyond Words Cruise.
Some people meditate 2 hours a day, and some never meditate.
Some people drink green smoothies, and some don't.
Some have a yoga practice, and others don't.
Does it matter?
The answer is no.. and yes.
It doesn't matter what you do as your specific spiritual practice.
There is no right way or wrong way.
Do this or do that, do something or nothing.
The Universe doesn't care.
All the Universe wants is for you to do is to connect in—to experience direct connection with All That Is, in whatever way works for you.
When we connect with ourselves at the soul level, we are healed, released, comforted—we have the sense of coming home. It is here that we find the peace we’ve been searching for.
For example, if you spend your whole life drinking soda pop, you drink a lot but you are never quenching your thirst. What you really desire is a glass of pure water. When we try to connect spiritually with worldly things, or busyness, or distractions, it’s the same: we can’t ever quench our thirst.
Yet when we connect with the Divine, we understand that we have finally found what we’ve been seeking.
Don't worry about doing it right, or doing it the way everyone else is doing it.
Just connect with All That Is. Do it whatever way works for you.

Daily Divine: October Forecast 2017: What will you do with lucky Jupiter in Scorpio...for a whole year?
This month Jupiter transits into Scorpio for a FULL YEAR—until November 2018!
This is big news!
This is big energy!
And it's all good!
Jupiter is a lucky planet that activates wherever it lands. Scorpio is all about money, sex, power, the inner world, death and rebirth—it's a very intense sign. Thus when Jupiter moves into Scorpio, we begin to see everything intensified in all things Scorpio.
Remember, death in spiritual terms usually means death of the old ways, not actual death. You can expect active shaking off of the old cobwebs as Scorpio asks you to get serious about what you're trying to create in your life.
Scorpio is also a fixed sign. This means it is firm and stubborn and does not take no for an answer.
So, what do you want to do with lucky Jupiter in Scorpio for A WHOLE YEAR? I'd suggest you ask the Universe to help you get clear on:
• Intensity and focus - what are you REALLY meant to do in your life?
• Passion and purpose - what are you REALLY meant to put your energy toward?
• Inner work - do you REALLY know who you are?
• Psychic awakening - do you know how to use your intuition as spiritual practice?
Jupiter in Scorpio is a rare, year-long window of opportunity. October is a great month to commit to what you're on this planet to do—and then do it.
P.S. This October we are featuring our # 1 bestselling DailyOM course Become a Spiritual Psychic in 28 Days. Sliding scale, pay what you want:
When we have passion for something, such as our life’s calling, our life’s work, the expansion of ourselves—the Universe supports us!
Our life becomes enjoyable, meaningful, FUN!
When we follow our soul's calling, we are gifted continually with miracles of synchronicity, Divine guidance, and Flow that lead us to our highest possibility.
The thing to remember, if you want to live an enjoyable, meaningful, FUN and passionate life, is this: it’s always, always, ALWAYS about answering your soul’s calling.
When we listen to the small voice—the mind/ego/personality—we get tripped up with fear, anxiety, shame or whatever negative feeling comes up. The small voice leads us to worrying that we aren’t good enough to live our dreams, or that we can’t do it for some reason.
But when we view the situation from soul perspective, we realize that these fears are unfounded!
The key to a passionate life is to let go of the small voice, and listen to your soul. It will always lead you where you really want to go
If you're not sure what your soul's calling is—ask the Universe for guidance.
P.S. Ready to live passionately? Join me for the 2018 Beyond Words Cruise.
It's common to feel edgy, angry, anxious in this world.
Some days—especially these days— it feels like nothing is going our way, and everything is a challenge.
Yet inner peace by its definition isn’t based on outer events. It’s a way of looking of things, a way of perception. And most importantly: it is a way of understanding our true nature as infinite beings.
The core of it is this:
• We can begin to create inner peace by connecting to the Universe more often.
• We can begin to create inner peace by understanding that we are souls.
We can do this is many ways: meditation, prayer, stillness, nature. But the key remains the same: The more often we connect to this beautiful state, frequency or vibration, the more attuned we get to this level of consciousness or understanding. The more infused we are with this frequency, the more we live there all the time.
In other words: we experience peace, so we see things more peacefully, so we experience more peace, and so on.
What we pay attention to expands… this is the same with spiritual practice.
It’s a beautiful snowball effect of peace bringing more peace, and more peace becoming your reality.
Which is of course, a very fulfilling way to live.

We are doing it again... sunset redux.
In which we try to watch every single sunset of summer.
It's September now, and it's almost over... just a few opportunities left.
We did this in 2014, as you may remember in The 60 sunsets of summer.
We did it in 205, and in 2016. And this year, it is the same: bliss, bliss and more bliss, as the sun sinks down in the west and calls it another day.
Yes, there has been astounding stress this summer: heat and fire, hurricanes and floods, so much suffering for so many.
And yet, the sheer beauty of it...
In all of this suffering, how can there also be so much bliss?
There is the sun, first high in the sky over the river.
There is the blaze of color and saturation and glow.
There is the sun sliding down till it hangs over the rim of the horizon.
And then there is the drop: as the orb slides beneath the earth.
A few moments later: the Fahrenheit drops, and night begins its night call: birds, crickets, frogs enter chorus.
Last night, the Universe did all over again, perfectly: As the sun dropped, we were listening to Wah! sing "Shiva", and at the moment Wah@ sand "Shiva," the wind picked up and a breeze sang though the trees.
So much bliss! I was completely gone.
To watch the sunset every night is a spiritual practice.
It is a call to meditation, to connection, and to the repeated, insistent cognizance of our place as a human on the earth, and our place as a soul in the Universe.
P.S. Are you a WRITER? Try my DailyOM creativity course Writing with the Muse.
We often think that creativity is a magical gift that only a few people have.
That some people are born writers, or artists, or musicians, or dancers.
Either you've "got it" or you don't.
In truth, creativity is simply an aspect of awareness.
It's about learning how to open the "tube" in which Divine information flows.
It's about getting out of our own way, and learning to let that flow happen.
Another way to look at it: getting creative ideas isn't about "forcing" or "trying" or "working. It's about receiving them.
The same way that we receive images and information in meditation, or we receive the whispers of the Universe when we are out and about in our day—this is how creativity happens, too.
What I find is that when we gather information from the Universe, we are always informed at the deepest level. For example, if you are writing a novel, whatever creative ideas arrive to you, always have to do with your soul's journey too—it's not just about the characters or plot. If you are painting a painting, what you express is always what your soul is working out—it's not just about what finds its way to the canvas.
For whatever reason, fall and winter are some of the very best seasons to do creative work. There is something about being done with summer, and being ready to go internal, to wander around and see what the Universe is placing in our path, as clues and answers to our creative process.
If you've never been a "creative type" why not?
If you're a "creative type" who isn't being creative, why is this?
If you need an infusion of inspiration, what happens when you let the Muse that is is the Universe, guide you?
P.S. Some of you have discovered my DailyOm course Writing with the Muse: this is very complete training on opening your creativity from a spiritual perspective.
It's also available both as ebook and paperback.
Sometimes it seems we follow our schedules religiously—except when it comes to our spiritual life.
Now, some of you have very active spiritual practices, and you understand why it’s important to create time and space for retreats, workshops and events that expand you. Yes! This is the way to do it!
But for many folks—and I know this because I hear this directly from you—you're so busy with your life, spiritual practice seems to take a back seat.
Maybe we can grab a couple of minutes in the morning to journal, or a few minutes to meditate before bed. Maybe we multi-task by listening to spiritual podcasts while we’re at the gym. Or we squeeze our Divine connection into yoga class during the week, or at a Sunday spiritual service.
It's hard to understand until you're there... but..once you start making your spiritual life your priority, your to-do list is going to shrink.
You won’t be squeezing spirituality in anymore.
Skimping on the Divine won't be enough.
You’ll want to make it your priority.
And when you make it your priority, all the busyness, all the doingness—will start to drop away. You just won't be interested any more.
Once you start connecting in with the Divine—really experiencing two-way communication with the Universe—then the stuff that doesn’t really matter, won’t matter to you.
