Is the political climate actually helping us grow?

    Picture
We are in the midst of fierce ideological struggles, and it is not pretty.

Will we be racist or will we be inclusive?
Will we be misogynist or will we be equal?
Will we be violent or will we be peaceful?
Will we be separate or will we be together?

What we are really experiencing, on a soul level, is a great awakening.

Yes, our world seems toxic and negative, extremely so.
But as souls, what we working on is proclaiming our Oneness.

    Some people get it.
Some people don't get it yet.

If you are a person who understands we are one collective soul, now is the time to double-down on your spiritual practice, and show up by example and by action.

    Be the Light.
    Shine the Light.
    Practice the Light.

It is a long road to November 2020.

Be sure you are registered to vote.
If you are called to work in politics, do that.
If you are called to have discussions with friends and neighbors, do that.
If you are called to pray, do that.

What is the true purpose of a soul mate?

    Picture
I often speak to people who long to find their one true soul mate, or who wonder if they have found their soul mate.

But what is the reason we seek soul mates?

From a spiritual perspective, we seek our soul mate because this is the person we have agreed to work on soul lessons with.

Soul mates are people we have karmic crossings with—these are the people we have agreed to work out karma (soul lessons) in this lifetime. We've either been with them for many lifetimes before, or we're meeting them in this lifetime for the first time, but either way, we're here to work out soul lessons.

You notice I don't use the term twin flames? I don't use that term, because I feel it is disempowering. Each soul is a unique expression of earth being. We are not the same as another soul. Our uniqueness is what makes us whole.

Thus, no matter how idyllic or lovely or companionable or passionate or whatever it is you look for in a relationship, if you're with a soul mate, you're working out soul lessons together.

There may be challenges—that is part of working out karma, by sticking with it and growing with the other.

There may be toxicity—that is part of working out karma, by saying no and walking away.

There may be periods of no soul mate—that is part of understanding who you are from your own reflection of yourself.

And finally, remember soul mates are not always romantic: friends, family, animal friends, plants and nature—these are also souls who are helping us on our path.

Does life change when you become psychic?

    Picture
Opening to your psychic abilities feels like coming home.

It feels like all the puzzle pieces suddenly fit.
The emotions in your heart suddenly make sense.
The wonderings about the future turn into deeply certain knowings.

When we connect with the Universe in this way--through our psychic understanding—what we are really doing is living from our soul, instead from our mind.

Our mind is based on separation, on being "right", on being linear.
Whereas our soul is whole. It is based on Oneness, on allowing.

When you begin to work your life's issues using psychic techniques, it can be surprising how quickly things suddenly fall into place. The rational mind is an older construct. We are learning to live a new way now.

Are you living a soul-led life?

    Picture
"This commitment to living from soul will take you on an unexpected journey, whether you travel the world or you stay at home.

Whether you meet many people, or only a few.
Whether you achieve worldly success, or live a simple life.

Yet in all cases, this walking on the path in your own way, throwing away the map and letting the Light lead . . . this is walking in the mystery, and it is the sweetest, most profound way to live a life!

The great leap is not into the known.
The great leap is into the mystery.

Take your map out. Look at where they told you that you needed to go.
Now throw the map away and start walking.

Your soul knows the way."--Messages from the Divine

    What is the soul's journey?

    Picture
It's often said we are Divine beings having a human experience.

But what does that really mean?

Whenever we accept things as “truth” for a long time, it’s good to step back and take another look. Sometimes looking at “truths” can be uncomfortable, or bring up some resistance—we want to believe what we believe.

But what if we did that?

What if we left out that whole "Divine being" part, and looked at this idea a little plainer, little more stripped down. As in:

"We are souls having a human experience."

    Not Divine beings.
    Souls.

It helps us flip this idea around and look at it anew, for two reasons:

    • First, souls are not neutral—they have choice. In this way, we can be either souls turned to light. Or we can be souls turned toward dark. The soul has choice.

    • Second, our human selves are not neutral either—our human self, which we might call our mind, ego or personality, also has choice.  As humans, we can be "good,” which most people think of as kind, compassionate, and loving. Or we can be “bad,” which most people take as mean, cruel and hateful.

We get to choose the orientation of our soul: toward Light or dark.
And we get to choose the orientation of our human self: toward Light or dark.

Nobody is perfect. In fact, most of us are woefully in the middle, perfectly imperfect, walking our path. And yet many of us are leaning toward the Light.

The thing is: it’s complicated, this task of being both soul and human! It’s not as easy to lean toward Light as we might imagine, even if that is our soul’s and personality’s desire.

    We are wonderfully imperfect.
    We are on the path.
We are leaning to the Light.

    That is enough for today.

    Can we choose consciousness?

    Picture
    What is consciousness?

Consciousness is our awareness of "what is", of Universal energy, of Nowness, of God.

It's more than intellectually knowing. It's our deep inner knowing that there is something more and that we are part of this more. There is something more and we are part of it.

This knowing isn’t something that we can be taught. It’s not a mind thing. Instead,  it takes hold within us, it is something we are born with, it is something we don’t ever not know.

In the old days, a word for this was faith: having an unshakeable belief in something that can’t be seen.We may not use that term now, but we are practicing faith anyway.

We don’t need intellectual or scientific “proof” to know that our knowing is a true knowing. We see in our own lives, the continued, constant and consistent communication from this indescribable, ineffable MORE that is everything.

    God. Universe. One. All. Divine.
All good names, for what we’re trying to express.

And sometimes, just the idea that there is MORE and we are part of it is enough to get us through a rough patch or a dark night.

We hold this deep knowing deep without our innermost hearts, and no amount of convincing will have us known otherwise.

We know this, because we are it.
