How do I know what true love is? How can I tell if I’ve met my soul mate or not? I’ve been through so many bad relationships, and I really want to find the One.—Petra
The great poet Rumi writes about the true Beloved: “From the beginning of my life/I have been looking for your face/but today I have seen it..”
If you read the works of Rumi, you begin to realize that he’s not just talking about the soul mate in human form—but that the soul mate is also the Divine/God/One/All
There’s no difference between the two.
Thus, when you start to look at love and relationships this way, finding your soul mate becomes a spiritual journey—a seeking of soul, not a journey of physical attraction.
Everyone has the opportunity to be with a soul mate in this lifetime, if that’s what he or she wants. Not every soul chooses that path; some souls choose to experience life without the Beloved, and that’s a very valid choice.
But for you, Petra, it’s time to let go of those ideas about what a soul mate is according to mainstream dictates, and to begin this search for the Divine being who awaits you on a soul level. It means letting go of a whole bunch of ideas about what you think you want… and allowing the Divine to lead you. This means this person who is your Beloved may show up in a physical container or with characteristics that you might not expect!
A soul mate is a true heart match, a true soul match. Nothing else—physical, career, money, etc—matters.
I teach an amazing process of how to attract your soul mate in my course Call in Your Beloved with Ease.
